How one man's years inside Pakistan's top fashion houses became a store that families in the UK and USA rely on for the real thing.
Where It All Started
A problem our founder kept seeing, again and again
Picture this. You're living in the UK. Your cousin's wedding is coming up in Birmingham. You want to wear something that connects you to your roots — something that makes your mother proud.
So you search online for Pakistani designer clothes. You find a website. The pictures look beautiful. You order a designer suit for £200. You wait three weeks. And when it arrives?
It's a replica. The fabric feels cheap. The embroidery is rough. The colours don't match the photos. And now there's no time left to find something else before the wedding.
This is the story our founder, Muhammad Iqbal, kept hearing on a visit to his brother in the United Kingdom. Family after family, the same three problems: sourcing, authenticity, and delivery timelines that slipped past the event itself.
The dresses existed. The designers existed. What was missing was someone in the middle whom families in the UK could actually trust.
The Person Behind It
Trained inside the industry, not outside it
Iqbal graduated in computer science, but fashion is where he spent his working life. Before Libas e Khas existed, he worked with leading Pakistani houses including Sana Safinaz and Crimson — learning the unglamorous side of the trade that customers never see.
How fabric is judged at production. What separates genuine designer embroidery from a convincing copy. How a piece travels from the mill to the tailor's table, and where quality is won or lost along the way.
So when he saw families in the UK being sent replicas, he didn't just sympathise. He knew exactly how to fix it — because he knew what the real thing looks like at every stage, and he knew the designers personally.
He returned to Pakistan and built Libas e Khas himself — including the website, coded with his own hands, because he understood this niche better than any agency would.

Working with Sana Safinaz and Crimson, Iqbal learned fabric quality, production and tailoring from the inside — the training that now checks every outfit we send.
Seeing the problem in the UK
On a trip to visit his brother, he met family after family struggling to source authentic Pakistani wedding wear — burned by replicas, customs surprises and missed events.
Libas e Khas is born
Back in Pakistan, he built a multi-brand store around one idea: source directly from designers, verify everything personally, and never ship an outfit the customer hasn't seen on video first.

Libas e Khas now works in partnership with houses including Maria B, Suffuse, Afrozeh, Faiza Saqlain, Hussain Rehar, Baroque, Mushq, Aik Atelier, Akbar Aslam, Soraya and Naqshi — with ready-to-ship pret delivered in around 5 days, stitched unstitched outfits in around 12 days, and made-to-order couture in 2–3 months, shipped worldwide with DHL and SkyNet Express.
